Work is proceeding slowly !!
We are finishing the work on the hull, mostly around the stern,and prepare for painting .
We are changing 9 keelbolts out of 17 !!
When we checked them we found 2 broken .
Starting from the bow we are changing :
no 1 : was OK !
no 2: was bent !!
no 3: was broken .
no 4: we can not access this one so it stay !!
no 5: was bent !
no 6: bigger than the other ones (1"1/8 instead of 1" .
no 7: was broken
no 8: was bent !
no 9: same as no 6
no 10 & 11 : no access ,under main mast.
no 12 : OK !
no 13 > 17 : access very difficult under engine, so they are not being replaced >
I think that the broken bolts and the bending on the other ones was due to a collision or a grounding !!!!
The 2 bigger ones were changed around 1975 by Mr Culver . I get a visit from his daughter last week.
Now the deck :
We have started replacing all deck beams ,for the moment on the stern and we start working around the bow .
